Great Guana Cay is a charming 7 mile long cay in the chain of cays outside of Great Abaco and Marsh Harbour. With not more than 100 locals and about 200 second home owners, you'll soon get to know the people there. The beautiful sandy Atlantic Ocean beach stretches along most of the cay, with the third largest barrier reef outside. There is lots of room for more nice people, so newcomers are warmly welcomed. Whether you are interested in purchasing an existing home, cottage or vacant land, you'll probably love the relaxed and friendly atmosphere on Guana Cay.

Although Hurricane Dorian hit the island with great force, Guana Cay has come a long way in the rebuilding process. The support, help and relief have been absolutely stunning all through the crisis. Most of the help coming from organizations in the States, second home owners and donations from everywhere to the two Guana Cay foundations. Baker's Bay, the development on the north end of the island, has helped with a generosity that has been absolutely amazing.

There is a lot of construction going on still, so you have to expect an influx of construction companies, workers and trucks on the island for the next couple of years. This has created an insane rental market with several hundred percent increase in rent. Now is the time to build and rent to workers and supervisors, and then after the construction period for the island is over, you turn it into a vacation rental. The tourists are already coming back, and Nipper's is open again.
